Gina began her singing career with the Sheffield Girls Choir with whom she toured Europe extensively and received many prestigious prizes in the Montreux, Vienna and Llangollan Festivals and as winners of the Sainsbury’s Choir of the Year competition. After graduating from Dartington College of Arts with a degree in music, specialising in performance and composition, Gina continued her studies under a Lilian Baylis award at the Knack (run by English National Opera) where she worked with Anthony Legge, Mary King and Deborah Warner.

After her studies at Dartington, Gina joined the Campion singers, a group of eight soloists, directed by Michael Proctor. At this time Gina also won a scholarship to sing as a scholar at St Martin-in-the-Fields. Gina's solo oratorio appearances include Mozart's Requiem, Vivaldi's Magnificat and Gloria, Bach's Magnificat, Handel's Messiah and Buxtehude's Membra Jesu Nostri at the Flanders Festival, the Greenwich Early Music Festival and with choral societies throughout the country. She has recently performed the alto solos from Pergolesi's Stabat Mater for duet and string quartet at the Royal Scottish Church, London.

Gina has performed regularly at the Dartington International Summer School as an operatic soloist. Her roles at the Summer School include Venus in Albion & Albanius by Grabu, directed by Anthony Rooley; the Queen's Attendant in The Play of Daniel, directed by Michael Fields and Singer 1 in the Europeras by John Cage, directed by Linda Hirst.

Gina's further operatic roles include the Singer in a Medicine for Melancholy by Alec Roth and Orlando Gough at the Knack (ENO); Belinda/Dido in Dido and Aeneas, and Nella in Gianni Schicchi with Opera Integra, and the role of Richardis in Hildegard von Bingen by Brian Inglis at City University. Gina has formed her own chamber opera company, Opera Venus, who have performed "Dangerous Love" at the 291 Gallery, London - a fully staged realisation of Gesualdo's third book of madrigals, which involved the collaboration of script writers, choreographers and set/costume designers.

Gina's interest in contemporary music initiated relationships with composers Brian Inglis, Gillian Carcas, Lisa Reim, Andrew Cheffings and Robert Carrington. Gina has premiered the following works by Brian Inglis: "Invocation" for solo voice and Sound Sculptures at the Gallery Oldham; “Peace”, a work for solo voice, children’s choir and chamber orchestra at the Ocean, London; a recording of a mass for St Peters church, and "Extasis" at the British Music Information Centre. After this, she and Brian were invited for an interview and live performance on Resonance FM.
She has also premiered two song cycles by Robert Carrington at the Brighton Festival. She was subsequently invited to represent the protagonist in an adaptation of the play, The Yellow Wallpaper, as the solo voice, performed at the Landor Theatre, London. Gina has recently recorded “WMD’s” by Roberto Filoseta. She has also created a cabaret duo for voice and piano, specialising in contemporary works, with performances at the Space, East London and St Peters Church, North London. Gina also sings with Indian tabla player, Kamalbir Nandra , and has plans to perform in 2009 throughout the UK. She is also planning to collaborate with tabla and santoor player, Dhevdas Nair.
Gina performed John Cage's Aria at a VIP event at the Union Chapel, London in 2005. In 2006, Gina was the mezzo-soprano soloist in the Visions of Ecstasy concert (- contemporary settings of works by Hildegard of Bingen) at St Margaret Patten's church, central London. She performed "Invocation" at The Gallery in Redchurch Street, Shoreditch, London in 2007 with
Derek Shiel and the Sound Sculptures. Gina sings as a soloist with the chamber choir Psalite, directed by Nancy Hadden, and has recently performed at Douai Abbey, Berkshire; at the Unitarian Chapel in Newington Green, London; Sutton House in Hommerton, London and St Michael’s Hampstead; the Women in Music Conference 2008. This year with Psalite, she will be recording a CD of Spanish Renaissance songs and pieces by Judith Cloud the contemporary composer and voice pedagogue. Gina sings regularly for occasions such as weddings with lutenists and harpsichordists.

Gina gives vocal tuition at her studio in North London and also on the Languages and Music for Life (LMFL) Summer School. She is also an examiner for the International Baccalaureate.

Gina has very recently set up the ensemble Both Sides Now with harpsichordist Bridget Cunningham and cellist Lucille Perrin. They perform music with common themes from early times – 16th/17th centuries – to the present day. This year they will be recording a CD of music from their first project called “John & Joni” which incorporates love songs by the 16th century composer John Dowland and the 20th century singer songwriter, Joni Mitchell. Other projects planned for 2009 are “Music by Women” which incorporates music by the 17th century composers Barabara Strozzi and Francesca Caccini and the modern day composers Kate Bush and Bjork. The third project will explore the music of 11th century Hildegard of Binghan and 20th century Shelagh Chandra. Project number four includes music by Bach, Handel and their contemporaries and music specially commissioned by contemporary composers including Peter Maxwell Davies, Arvo Part, John Tavener, Tansy Davies and Alwyn Pritchard, Jocylyn Pook.
